When BORP’s newest goalball players, 17-year-old twins Natasha and Melanie Ghesquierre, recently went to their first away goalball tournament in Vancouver, WA, their team, PT2, took 2nd place. Both twins have Retinitis Pigmentosa and are losing their vision. No longer able to compete in their sport of choice (gymnastics), they found out about BORP and goalball online.
Goalball has made a huge difference for these young women. Says their mom, Servane, “Playing with blind adults who are independent, happy, have a profession, and are very supportive, that helps them a lot in looking positively to their adult lives. Goalball has been a great find for them!”
