Two BORP athletes place 4th at the Parapan American Games

David García and Julián Vargas López, two BORP players on the High Fives wheelchair rugby team, placed 4th at the 2023 Parapan American Games with the Colombian national team in Santiago, Chile in November. After beating Brazil handily in the preliminary round, they lost by five points (52-57) in a rematch for the bronze medal despite leading for most of the first half. García is a local California resident and American-Colombian dual citizen playing his third season domestically on the High Fives team. Vargas López is an international import player for the High Fives. Both players hope to represent Colombia at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris while continuing to lead BORP to victory with the High Fives in the US wheelchair rugby national league.
