On December 7th, 2024 BORP hosted our 27th Annual Goalball Tournament, and it was a resounding success! Players traveled from across California to compete in this thrilling event and the only tournament of its kind in the region.
The tournament wouldn’t have been possible without our army of over 20 dedicated volunteers who helped make the day run smoothly. A special shoutout to referees Lingeng Wang and Jonathan Newman, who due to referee shortages officiated every single game with limited breaks—a truly herculean effort. Huge thanks also to Brandon Young, the tournament organizer, whose hard work ensured the event’s success, and to UC Berkeley for providing official goalball goals that added a professional touch to the tournament.
Congratulations to Namaste in Bed for their well-deserved victory, and to The Eagles for securing an impressive second-place finish! The day was packed with excitement, featuring some nail-biting games that had everyone on the edge of their seats.
