BORP Completes CIL Intern Program

When The Center For Independent Living (CIL) offered BORP the opportunity to host an intern we jumped at the chance, and were delighted when Drew Sperling joined our team down at the Cycling Center.

If you’ve visited the Cycling Center recently you’ve undoubtably met Andrew (Drew) Sperling, our intern through CIL’s new program. His internship ran from July to December 2024 and Drew worked hard each day. He greeted participants and community members, signed riders in, and cleaned and moved bikes.

He is a true champion of BORP, encouraging every person to participate in our multitude of activities. Leo, Director of the Cycling Center, was most appreciative of Drew’s innate ability to make people feel welcome and to show others that a disability can be a bond. Drew is moving to San Francisco and has plans to volunteer at our Golden Gate Park cycling program starting in June.

Check out the CIL’s video* about the program here.

Thank you Drew!
