Mia (she/her) has worked in adaptive outdoor recreation for over 20 years and has led accessible boat-based wilderness trips throughout the US and Canada. She has also developed after school science curriculum with UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science, led a scout troop, and served on a search & rescue team. Her educational background includes studies in anthropology focused on understandings of disability and a master’s degree focused on disability rights. Mia first started working at BORP in 2018 at the Cycling Center and then went on to develop and launch BORP’s new Adaptive Kayaking Program. Mia loves her job and the people she gets to work with. She has a family member who uses a wheelchair, and she enjoys hanging outside with her husband, kids, dog, and friends. Ella habla algo de español.
