Mission
Based in Berkeley, CA, BORP is the only organization in the San Francisco Bay Area region that provides a comprehensive menu of adaptive sports, fitness and recreation programs for people with physical disabilities.
Some of our programs target specific groups such as veterans or individuals with spinal cord injuries. Our youth program includes several team sports as well as a host of other activities designed for children, youth and families. With the launch of our virtual fitness program in 2020, BORP now serves individuals throughout the United States and beyond.
Participation in sports, recreation and fitness provides people with physical disabilities and visual impairments opportunities to improve their fitness and health, create social connections, improve their sense of well-being, and increase their independence.

People with disabilities and vision impairments face multiple barriers that prevent them from engaging in sports, recreation and fitness activities. BORP breaks down those barriers and transforms participants' lives.
